Think Like a Customer 1.3

If you think like a customer, you will gain customers. In this section I was challenged to answer two questions.

1. When you buy a product, why do you buy it?

To answer question one, Majority of the time I buy items because I have seen them advertised somewhere else previously. On the odd occasion, I purchase items because I want them rather than needing them. If something is marketed well and is getting great reviews, I will be interested in the product myself and will want to try it for myself. The reasons as to why I buy products differ on the use of the product, in this case as I am focusing on baby items, I will comment on this. When purchasing baby products, I am more likely to buy something cute and something that not everyone else can get. I like the exclusivity of a product and having something that is one of a kind.

2. What makes you choose a particular brand?

When purchasing branded items - which I rarely do, I look to see if they are something that is currently trending, if so I am more likely not to buy the product. I do not like buying stuff that everyone has.

From my answers above I have been able to recognise a reoccurring theme, the theme being something that has not been purchased before, something that is one of a kind. I have been able to deduct that customers want something they can call there own, something that no one else has, but may wish to. Customers want to have items that are clean and concise, something they can believe in and trust.  This has to be something that has to be conveyed throughout my marketing, design and colours.
